JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY
As a DSV Site Manager, you will be responsible for a vital part of the supply chain process, managing people, processes and systems in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched safely and efficiently, and that productivity targets are met.
The ideal candidate must have high energy, passion for action and driven to deliver high performance levels across all areas to create a path for career progression within DSV.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all site operations are performing to the required standards
Oversee site Health and Safety and compliance
Act as first point of contact for the customer, leading regular review meetings
Create and control a business plan to achieve site forecast and budgets
Direct site Group Audit compliance
Define and manage site and business sustainability targets
Maintain the site’s maintenance program in line with company ISO standards
Ability to manage issues and resolutions to be able to achieve best in class performance
Plan effectively for flexing of resources to account for fluctuations and seasonality
Proactively manage all absence and retention of staff
Coach and mentor staff, giving regular formal and informal feedback
Ensure a high level of compliance to WMS processes
Liaise with other business functions
Communicate appropriately with the site team to keep them up to date with business plans and performance
Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse
The Operations Manager will also be expected to act up for management to cover leave and absence
EXPERIENCE LEVELS
5 years management experience
Experience in cost control / revenue and invoicing
Health and Safety qualification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of Warehouse processes and procedures
Excellent people management skills
Experience of Warehouse Management Systems
Passionate about delivering great customer service
Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
Highly developed inter-personal and communication skills coupled with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels within the business
Ability to build, lead and motivate a skilled team able to meet objectives and agreed targets
Analytical and numerical
Strong decision-making skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree preferred or equivalent experience
Demonstrable experience of successfully managing a site within the transport or logistics industry
Previous management experience with the ability to manage and motivate others
Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous
Professional membership of an industry related body would be advantageous
