BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Senior Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a civil engineering project in South Co. Dublin. BAM Operates a flexible working policy.
The Glenamuck District Distributor Road Scheme is the first project of our new Framework Agreement with our Client Dunlaoghaire Rathdown County Council.
We are looking for someone who would be happy to relocate to Ireland for this position.
This project includes the construction of 890m of four lane dual carriageway, 1800 m of dual carriageway, existing junction upgrades, and includes structures, drainage, utilities, Accommodation Works and substantial traffic and pedestrian management with the existing live roads in the area.
• Advise on contractual matters – general and project level.
• Identify contract grounds for claim.
• Liaise with Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager when dealing with internal stakeholders and client’s representatives while on site including attendance at meetings.
• Commercial and QS support & Advise on appointing project staff (commercial).
• Look for opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce cost.
• Advise and support with project correspondence.
• Negotiate and agree subcontractors.
• Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
• Identify and investigate losses.
• Look for opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce cost.
• Timely drafting commercial/contractual correspondence.
• Negotiating subcontract and suppliers’ prices and terms.
• Ensure risk registers, variation trackers and extension of time tracker sheets are reviewed and updated monthly and included within monthly reports.
• Negotiating subcontractors and suppliers final accounts.
• Variations: measurement and pricing.
• Variations: Negotiate with client, quantity surveyor and subcontractor.
• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
• Ideally 10+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on construction projects.
• Proven ability to work on large scale, high headcount construction sites & sub-contractors essential.
• Strong time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site.
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.
• Knowledge and experience of PWC forms of Contract.
