BAM Ritchies are currently looking to recruit a Construction Materials Technician to join our laboratory team on the HS2 project based in Banbury. The role requires a candidate with extensive experience in materials related testing ranging from Concrete, Soils, Aggregates and Asphalt.
Your mission
As a Construction Materials Technician, you will be responsible for the following:
- Carrying out sampling and testing in line with Standards and customers specification
- Carry out a point of work risk assessment
- Checking that equipment to be used is in calibration and if broken or damaged this is reported to line manager immediately
- Entering and completing on appropriate sheets all records, readings and results that arise from the procedure being carried out
- Communicate clear instructions to site teams based on a thorough understanding of Client specification and expectations
- Provide clear and concise data to demonstrate compliance
- Carry out testing using equipment checked for calibration to demonstrate compliance
- Deliver daily/weekly work programmes with site teams
- Provide advice to others
- Training other staff in sampling and test procedures
- Maintain detailed site diary
- Maintain personal CPD record and CV to demonstrate career development
Who are we looking for?
The following are mandatory requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities
- CSCS Card
- Comprehensive range of experience demonstrated by CPD record and CV
The following are desirable requirements:
- First Aid at Work
- Technical Member IOM³/ICE
- Technical Seminars and Workshops
