The Transpennine Route Upgrade Project (TRU) is a circa £2b multi-disciplinary project upgrading the existing railway route between Manchester and Leeds through the Pennines. It is the largest rail and infrastructure project in the north of England over the next 5 years.
Working on the TransPennine route Upgrade from the Manchester office, the purpose of the role is to provide organisational and administrative support to the project.
Your mission
- Engage with process owners and Alliance stakeholders to comprehend, collect, and refine user needs and specifications.
- Design, construct, and test digital solutions in alignment with the provided requirements.
- Offer insights and advisories to delineate project scope and ensure alignment with objectives.
- Establish and uphold various environments including Development (Dev), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production (Prod).
- Assist end-users by addressing issues, implementing changes, and ensuring seamless operation of existing solutions.
- Manage permissions, oversee system monitoring, and execute other administrative tasks as required.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation and facilitate training sessions for relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously explore emerging technologies and innovative solutions to foster system enhancements.
- Enhance solutions for superior performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Regularly evaluate and monitor system performance to ensure optimal functionality.
Who are we looking for?
- Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role.

- Developments are delivered as per stakeholder requirements
- Positive feedback from Internal and External Customers
- Excellent interpersonal skills to rapidly develop robust relationships across all key stakeholders.
- Required to have a good understanding of Power Platform & Azure administration
- Desirable to demonstrate competency in various programming languages, such as JavaScript, React, and JSON
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of API’s
- Experience designing and implementing SharePoint forms (Power Apps)
- Automation using PowerShell scripts and flows (Power Automate)
- Possession of knowledge and understanding of various aspects of IT Security
- Technologies: Microsoft 365/SharePoint Online, and SharePoint Search, NET Framework, ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, SPFx framework. Familiarity with PowerApps, Flow, Logic Apps, Microsoft/Office Graph, and SharePoint Modern Pages/Web Parts
- Experience using “no-code” tools for developing digital forms and workflow
- The candidate must have strong skills in documenting software, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding for all users and stakeholders.
- The candidate must also have knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID
