MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the building and equipment maintenance to ensure an uptime on all essential facility services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Responsible for the building and maintenance of the facilities of Mediclinic City Hospital.
- Attend to repair requirements reported by users in accordance with operational requirements (i.e., Job Card) in a timely manner
- Ensure that documentation (i.e. job cards) is carried out appropriately
- Assess tools requirement prior to the job and utilize correctly
- Reports problems and re-work quality failures as per procedure
- Reports incidents and potential risks and takes corrective action when necessary
- Install awareness among all staff to maintain a safe hospital environment
- Obtains permission to access areas and isolation of service is strictly controlled and communicated
- Accompany and assist contractors as per instruction and policies
- Check and sign delivery notes as per procedure
- To carry out designated tasks as assigned by the Engineering coordinator.
- Client expectations are met and quality client service principles are maintained.
- Client complaints are resolved and escalated if required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
A technical diploma or trade certificate
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum four years experience in a similar position preferable if within the healthcare industry or a medical setting
- Has working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with senior managers
- Good skills with the Microsoft suite of products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio
- Must be able to manage resources effectively
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Computer literacy (MS Office package)
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- General Filing and document management
- Stock management and control
