We are now looking for a 

 

Regional General Manager

 

to lead our US Dynamic Positioning business. The position is based in Fort Lauderdale, but it is required that the candidate spent time in the San Diego based team on regular basis (monthly).

 

What you will be doing

 

The GM will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of the company as well as serving as the MD of the legal entity in the USA. This role requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to drive growth and profitability. The preferred candidate will have a maritime background and be well connected with US government entities, as well as have a broad network in the commercial maritime space.

 

As regional General Manager your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the executive team and employees.
  • Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve company goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements, with a specific focus on the maritime industry.
  • Represent the company and act as the primary point of contact with external stakeholders, including clients, partners, US government entities, and industry associations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners in the commercial maritime space.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand the company's market presence and revenue streams in the maritime industry.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks in the maritime sector.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure effective internal controls and risk management processes are in place.
  • Collaborate with the global leadership team to align strategies and share best practices.

 

 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Managing Director, or similar executive leadership role in the maritime industry.
  • Sound understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in the USA, particularly in the maritime sector.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth and profitability in the maritime industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate government entities and industry associations.
  • Well-connected with US government entities and have a broad network in the commercial maritime space.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the maritime industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on maritime-specific challenges.
  • Ability to travel as required, with a focus on maritime-related events and meetings.
  • Lead and manage Operations and Service teams, internal as well as external partners.
  • Maintain and further develop customer relationships.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching and direction to assigned personnel.
  • Guide the teams to a common way of working and support growth mindset among the team members.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in operations management.
