About the Brand
The Open Access team is responsible for overall OA revenue and strategy, including performance monitoring, policies, business model migration & transformative agreements. Working in close coordination with sales & publishing teams, our team supports all areas of Springer Nature’s OA ambitions and strategy.
About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Commercial Projects, and support the business transition to open access through the development and implementation of projects, policies and initiatives which aim to improve and optimise the open access business.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage, contribute to and deliver key open access business projects within agreed timeframes
- Provide pricing and discounting support to colleagues as needed.
- Develop project plans with milestones and governance structure which are clearly visible and understandable by key stakeholders.
- Act as a central point of knowledge, providing information and insights to support the work of colleagues in the Open Access team and wider company.
- Monitor the impact of initiatives, ensuring appropriate reporting and analysis is in place to measure success and identifying areas for further improvement.
- Secure and maintain buy-in from stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, developing and maintaining excellent relationships, for successful delivery.
- Work with implementation teams to ensure delivery of solutions and adapt to any changes with may impact delivery
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience of managing and developing (sometimes interconnected) business projects.
- Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels and on a global scale.
- Understanding of publishing workflows.
- Excellent organisation skills to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with individuals at all levels and on a global scale.
- Excellent numeracy skills with proven attention to detail.
- Excel and Powerpoint proficiency.
- Good problem solving/logic/analytical skills with the ability to capture and document requirements and processes.
- Proactive attitude and the ability to lead projects alone as well as as part of a large group.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, a project management qualification such as PRINCE2 is a bonus
