Cruise is creating a new-to-the-world service and a world-changing category of autonomous vehicle mobility. On the legal side, the rules are being written now, and we’re the team charged with helping guide the company on legal and risk considerations as we unlock the future. We’re a collegial group in which every role matters, and you’ll have an impact on high stakes decisions, working with technical and development teams solving some of the hardest engineering challenges of our generation. This position is a part of the Enterprise Safety, Regulatory and Compliance team of Legal. In this position, you will collaborate with Go To Market, Operations, Quality Systems, Safety, and General Motors to ensure Cruise remains compliant with local, state, and federal regulations and internal company policies.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Partner with Cruise attorneys to:
Review and interpret regulations and develop and maintain internal policies
Identify areas of compliance risk and implement processes to meet regulatory requirements and ensure ongoing compliance.
Draft materials for submission to federal and state regulators.
Analyze and communicate regulatory requirements for market entry and ongoing compliance
Support AV testing, ridehailing and/or delivery teams in meeting their objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with various cross-functional Cruise teams with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Engineering, Government Affairs, and Product to ensure we can fulfill internal company policies and comply with federal, state, and local regulations
Create and maintain full traceability of Cruise’s regulatory requirements and compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Cruise has the appropriate systems and records to manage regulatory compliance
Audit Cruise’s execution of various compliance processes and partner with execution teams on continuous improvement
Establish and execute reporting processes to various regulatory bodies
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field
8+ years of professional work experience in a compliance role
Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous regulatory landscape
Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to recognizing needs, anticipating issues, building consensus and developing solutions
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
The salary range for this position is $128,900 - $189,500. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
