Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete prototype controls development, validation and calibration at various scopes:
- Vehicle EE architecture including ECU selection and design of CAN and LIN interaction protocols
- Powertrain Control Module / Vehicle Control Unit interaction designs
- Slave component interface design
- Torque path and torque security controls
- Propulsion system-level cross-functional and innovative controls
- Sparse diagnostic selection and off road implementation
- Shift, Park, Cooling Actuator controls
- Motor / inverter controls
- Support the vetting and downselection of power electronics candidate technologies and partners for advanced tech development (startups, suppliers, analysis providers), including:
- Single fluid cooling
- SiC, GaN
- Motor-integrated inverter technologies
- Printed stator / printed PCB integration
- PCB modularity strategy
- Other future disruptive drive system technologies
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 10 years’ work experience
- DSpace Simulink model based design
- Progressive assignments within the automotive powertrain controls field including technical and managerial strengths
- Experience with diverse propulsion electrification architectures including ICE, BEV, HEV, PHEV
- Experience with diverse propulsion disciplines including torque path / torque security, energy optimization, diagnostics, feature design and validation
- Experience with or passion for high performance or off road vehicles
