POSITION SUMMARY:
A well rounded Marketing Director who thinks globally and acts locally to direct the overall Marketing and strategic planning activities for the Village, ensuring the Value Retail voice is always represented and business growth is achieved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and envision the senior management team within the Village to achieve commercial success and enhance guests’ satisfaction through:
· Providing local Senior Management and Corporate Management with regular analysis of market trends and guest behaviour.
· Creating a cohesive strategy; a Marketing and Communications plan to drive key acquisition, retention and business metrics to raise awareness of the Village and increase qualitative footfall
· Testing and innovating new and engaging Marketing initiatives. Evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing mix (outdoor, desktop and digital campaigns, PR and Communication events, cool award programmes, (you name it!) with an analytical plan to measure success
· Ensuring world-class product Marketing positioning, messaging and launches. Infuse the Value Retail voice in every part of the guest experience
Be responsible for the strategic development of the Village and Value Retail business, keep abreast of competitors, future trends through:
· Managing the Village Marketing budget. Approaching the budget management from a portfolio perspective with the goal of improving performance, efficiency and profitability of all money spent. (Ensure that all programs come in within budget)
· Managing a team of Marketing, Communication and Tourism professionals. Oversee the development and professional growth of the Marketing team with respect to expanded expertise, leadership development and increasing knowledge outside of their immediate areas of responsibility
· Enhancing external relationships and promoting the Village as a luxury tourist destination within the Community and the wider Country
· Continually identifying emerging trends in advertising across all platforms (print, online and mobile) as well as social media, and work proactively to turn them into innovative new marketing opportunities
· Cross functional collaboration, leading and partnering with the Team Leaders to ensure that overall Village initiatives are supported and fully integrated. Overseeing execution, propose and implement ongoing process improvement.
BACKGROUND & SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Marketing or Business studies qualification. Educated to degree level (Masters, MBA desirable)
· Proven experience in a similar role, e.g. agency environment, or publishing world - ideally with experience of retail-marketing and brand building
· Extensive experience in advertising, press, PR, and media
· Hands-on profile and strong communicator
· Ability to influence and motivate key players to stand behind and support his/her plans
· In-depth knowledge of and affinity for luxury products
· Commercial understanding of retail and retail marketing
· Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels
· Strong leadership and management skills
· Creative skills and good understanding of design
· Good budget management skills
· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
· Fluent in English and local Village language
