Position Summary

In this role you will be responsible to lead, coordinate and implement the packaging concept (material, design, and manufacturing solution) for new products from conceptualization to industrialization phase. Lead and implement new state of the art packaging equipment and standard technologies developed by PTCs. provide technical expertise and manufacturing support in the development of packaging that meets consumer needs for quality and safety at optimum costs.
A day in the life of a Packaging Technologist:
I&R Excellence:
Support and identify new packaging solutions for the development and implementation of new products by applying the NPDI process (incl. PIQET, SHE...).
Identify opportunities to renovate products with improved packaging requirements (reduce weight, reduce costs, improve functionalities...) by applying the Packaging Wheel tool.
Identify factory requirements for the new packaging (CAPEX...)
Coordinate and lead industrial trials on new packaging lines and do post-trial analyses.
Document in Manufacturing Dossiers the operational procedures for new packaging equipment’s
Ensure smooth hand-over to operations of new packaging technologies, with "zero" defect industrialization.
Manufacturing Excellence:
Identify opportunities and lead packaging material and packaging process improvement initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality and safety. Benchmark with other markets.
Lead initiatives on harmonization of packaging materials for cost and complexity reduction
Identify best suppliers of packaging materials for efficient machine operation and product quality at right costs.
Provide technical support to factory on identifying root causes of problems on packaging and product quality issues and give recommendations (DMAIC projects)
Increase knowledge within factory staff through training, as per the training program developed by the AG Manager and aligned with BSEN and CT-Pack.
Quality and compliance:
Implement GIs relative to Packaging (e.g., Bioplastic...)
Implement packaging and labeling concepts in compliance with local regulations.
