Nestlé Nutrition R&D Centers, Inc. seeks a Principal Scientist in Holbrook NY
Duties: Proactively identify consumer centric packaging technologies and strategies to solve or enable knowledge discovery involving sustainability, recycling, product, or other challenges. Partner internally and externally to determine new packaging solutions. Develop discovery from bench to manufacturing scale. Champion development to senior management. Act as packaging development lead on new product innovation launches, partnering with cross-functional team members to deliver commercialization excellence. Lead cross-functional teams through sound risk assessments with mitigation plans through entire product life cycle. Conduct required line trials, distribution testing, and partner with product development to initiate stability testing. Solve complex packaging design and engineering issues by leveraging sound experimental design principles and root cause analysis.
Salary: $121,659.00 - $131,659.00 per year
Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field of study plus Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a package engineering role within the field of consumer packaged goods (“CPG”). Required experience must include each of the following:
-5 years of experience with packaging design, validation, and testing;
-5 years of experience with root cause analysis;
-5 years of experience with advanced PC skills including Excel, SAP, Powerpoint, and CAPE/TOPS;
-5 years of experience with flexible and rigid packaging;
-4 years of experience with plastic recycling technology and qualification process;
-4 years of experience with experimental design principles;
-3 years of experience with the Stage Gate Process;
-3 years of experience with Association of Plastic Recycling lab testing; and
-2 years of experience with product stability modeling.
Domestic and international travel required up to 25% of time. Telework is permitted up to 2 days per week.
