Location: Crawley (Hybrid)

Salary: Salary up to £42,500 depending on experience + potential bonus + other fantastic benefits including Nespresso Coffee Machine and monthly allowance of capsules and 12 flexible days in addition to holiday entitlement

Position Summary

The Nespresso B2C Performance Team are recruiting for a talented B2C Strategic Category Analyst to join the team where you will be responsible for analysing, forecasting and reporting on the external Coffee & Hot Beverage Maker markets, understanding the key growth trends, and forecasting likely category growth and Nespresso's position within this into regular market share projections. 

 

You will examine the competitive landscape and provide insights to the wider teams as to changes in the market and what impacts these may have on Nespresso. As a key member of the Performance Team, you will bring an external context to the internal performance of Nespresso.

A day in the life of a B2C Strategic Category Analyst …

Key responsibilities will include: 

 

Category performance analysis and business planning

  • Analyse and identify key drivers of the Coffee & Hot Beverage Maker categories. Study trends and customer behaviours behind these
  • Forecast future category performance in both the Coffee & Hot Beverage Markets and understand with our current plans what our market share position is likely to be.
  • Understand the key drivers of these trends & advise on steps that could be taken in the external context.
  • Participate, share insights and provide recommendations at weekly performance meetings to help colleagues focus on development opportunities.
  • Partner with other departments to share external category insights, which will help develop business strategies.
  • Feed external category insights and into the commercial team to help with forecasting and business planning.

 

Data Visualisation 

  • Create and deliver relevant and concise dashboards and reports for the business using Power BI, External market share data resources (GFK, IRI & Retailer data), SAP, UX, and other sources.
  • Visualise for the commercial cycle current category trends & future trends including Nespresso market share. 
  • Form and quantify actionable recommendations for performance improvement across our channels and subscription product range.
  • Collaborate with Nespresso Marketing colleagues to feed external category insight to help drive our business objectives.

 

External Data Analytics Advocacy & Governance:

  • Own GFK market, IRI, Nielsen and other data partnerships 
  • Champion use of data and insight to make decisions across the wider team
  • Develop a culture of being fully up to speed with our external context
  • Help raise awareness about existing data resources & the value they can bring
  • Enable regular HQ share reporting & forecasting where required


What will make you successful?

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate commercial experience with proven examples of impacting commercial KPIs through analysis, insights and actionable recommendations.  You will be an all-rounded commercially minded individual who brings energy, enthusiasm and drive. Strong collaboration is key to this role’s success so you will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to constructively challenge when required. 

 

You will also have:

  • Experience leveraging data visualisation tools (PowerBi/Tabelau) to turn analysis into readily accessible insight.
  • Preferred experience with low level data manipulation on large data sets using BigQuery, SAP, SQL or similar.
  • Strong Excel skills to automate processes.
  • Experience working with third party data platforms e.g. IRI, GFK, SimilarWeb, Adthena, Stackline.
  • Understanding of digital marketing strategies, marketing funnel and related toolset
  • Experience of working in omni channel brands would be an advantage.
