Days based – Mon- Friday

Salary ranging from £35,000 to £40,000 plus potential bonus and fantastic benefits!

We’re looking for an Area Quality Manager to join our Quality Team at our Wisbech, Purina Petcare site. We are passionate about quality and safety and you would share these values and be ready to assume immediate responsibility as your career developed within the UK and potentially overseas.

A day in the life of an Area Quality Manager … 

Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity. 

You will play a crucial role in achieving this by been responsible for ensuring full conformance to food safety and quality requirements within the production units, challenging and coaching the team in the pursuit for zero defects. 

 

Key responsibilities will include:
•    Point of contact for production teams for day-to-day quality related activities fostering a cross departmental culture of quality and compliance.
•    Train and Coach production and engineering staff on quality requirements and standards.
•    Participate in operational reviews across site as a Area Quality Manager and represent as quality functional support 
•    Drive quality related problem solving with Production and Engineering team and Drive Quality related competence building. 
•    Conduct Internal Audit, PRP Verification and support external audits as required. 
•    Lead and support non-conformity investigations, driving corrective actions with a root cause mentality.
•    Analyse performance indicator trends, define focus and drive actions to eliminate losses. 
•    You will lead and drive continuous improvement projects (TPM/LEAN) as part of factory operational master plant.
•    Lead and drive PRPs improvement activities, i.e., cleaning, pest management and overall hygiene.

 

What will make you successful?

To be successful in this this role we would expect you to have:
•    Ideally, you’ll be educated to degree standard Graduate level in a science-based subject preferably in Food Science and / OR Food Technology. 
•    Worked with in a food producing industry environment previously with experience in Food Safety and Quality Function.
•    Strong Knowledge of HACCP (at least intermediate level) and Food Safety and Hygiene principles is essential. 
•    Experience in developing and implementing HACCP 
•    Experience in training, coaching, and managing direct or indirect large groups of stakeholders is required.
•    Experience using quality systems is advantageous.
•    We expect you to have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of initiative and attention to detail and be someone who takes pride and responsibility in what you do.
•    Experience with auditing and audit procedures is advantageous.
•    Experience of modern manufacturing techniques such as 5S, TPM would be ideal though not essential but you will be looking to drive continuous improvement projects in this role.
