A day in the life of a R&D Specialist Nutritionist...
You will build your expertise and networks with the Global Confectionery nutrition community to support them in implementing Nestlé’s ‘Good For You’ strategy. You will collaborate with Nestlé Research scientists and Regulatory to develop and deliver innovative and competitive nutrition strategies for the Confectionery business to help drive Business growth. Identifying external opportunities and threats, defining global priorities, and translating them into tangible strategies is a key aspect of the role.
You will manage nutrition information for specific projects and will be responsible for ensuring scientific accuracy and credibility in our approach, both internally and externally. As part of your role, you will support the business in tracking our progress against both our internal and external nutrition commitments and will be critical in ensuring we continuously deliver against these aims, while delivering great tasting confectionery products that our consumers love.
You will feel at home working independently, conducting portfolio assessments and working with nutrient profiling models, to formulate a strong point of view on recommendations and opportunity areas for the Confectionery business. Your proactive, adaptable, and curious nature will be an asset, as you demonstrate your unique style to work in an environment that can be, at times, ambiguous.
What will make you successful?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who has studied an Association for Nutrition accredited undergraduate degree and/or is eligible for entry onto the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN); or someone who has studied a dietetic programme approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and/or is eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC as a Dietitian and who has worked in a commercially-focused environment as a Nutritionist.
As a result of your previous work experience, you’ll be comfortable speaking in a commercial forum and to senior managers, about nutrition and health. You’ll also be accustomed to building relationships quickly, both internally and externally, and you’ll be confident to push back and challenge when necessary. You should be experienced in working independently from your core team and have the motivation and initiative to proactively manage your workload and identify where support is needed.
Your technical knowledge and ability to inspire, gain trust and credibility are key aspects of this role. Previous experience in a treating category is desirable, demonstrating the application of nutrition knowledge in an effective way to support the business ambitions.
You will have experience in understanding strategic priorities and translating these into workable solutions. Experience in concept ideation and science translation with a deep knowledge of the global product portfolio is a plus.
