Location: York or Gatwick (Hybrid working – approx. 2 flexible days a week in our office)

We have a fantastic Senior National Account Manager opportunity to join our Nestlé Sales Team. This is a high profile and strategically important role, where you will have the opportunity to drive and accelerate our fantastic product portfolio and share in Bestway. 

 

The Senior National Account Manager role is supported by a dedicated National Account Executive accountable for the Multipacks and Seasonal portfolio. Whilst they will not directly report into the Senior National Account Manager, there will be a dotted line relationship, ensuring seamless collaboration and support between the two positions. The National Account Executive will play a crucial role in assisting the Senior National Account Manager in achieving their objectives and driving growth within the group. Together, they will form a dynamic team focused on delivering exceptional results and maintaining strong customer relationships. 


A day in the life of a Senior National Account Manager …
Working as part of our Sales team, you will be responsible for developing customer relationships and delivering profitable sustainable growth through the day-to-day management of the commercial plan. You will work closely with experienced colleagues within the Customer Business Team and the Category Development Team to deliver growth and market share. You will also:

 

  • Develop and agree customer specific joint business plans (JBP’s) to successfully achieve Nestlé’s and the customer’s commercial goals
  • Have full P&L management and accountability including sales revenue, trade spend, market share and profits targets
  • Pro-actively manage the relationship between Nestlé and the customers delivering growth and unlocking opportunities
  • Build and develop effective relationships through an engaging and forward-thinking contact strategy, utilising different functional teams to deliver a best-in-class partnership
  • Co-create and execute robust channel strategies, ensuring we have the tools we need to win in channels and customers for the long term
  • Provide all the required inputs for the Monthly Business Planning cycle
  • Oversee and ensure Nestlé Category and Marketing initiative plans are executed in store by working in conjunction with Activation Managers and our Field Sales teams
  • Pro-actively work with a range of cross functional stakeholders to deliver great results
  • Run promotional post-evaluation and optimisation throughout the year to drive ROI understanding across the major multiples
  • Ensure all day-to-day account issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently with a customer centric approach
  • Closely monitor industry and competitor activity, to ensure our strategic commercial vision is in line with market demands in a constantly changing, competitive environment that we work in

 

What will make you successful
To be successful, you’ll already have a fantastic breadth of sales experience under your belt, ideally with previous experience within FMCG and within the Confectionery category (desirable not essential). You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. Acting as an ambassador for our Nestlé Confectionery brand, you will have commercial capability and have experience of influencing across all levels. This role requires someone who is proactive, innovative, and driven to make a positive impact. It’s a given that you will know the importance of being able to flex your style whilst working in an environment that is fast paced and at times ambiguous.
 
You will also:

  • Be a skilled negotiator and have the ability to conduct multi-faceted negotiations.
  • Have an understanding of forecast planning principles.
  • Demonstrate a solid level of analytical and numeracy capability including the basics of customer Profit and Loss statements.
  • Understand the importance of working in a customer centric way.
  • Be curious! Specifically, to continue developing your already strong Category Management skills.
  • A solid understanding of Supply Chain and demand planning principles. 
  • Be courageous, we’re not afraid to think differently and embrace new ideas. We want you to disrupt what we do in the right way to drive great results and change.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and take ownership of your personal development journey.
  • Collaborate effectively across different teams and departments which is crucial in our dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ability to navigate the organization, connect with key stakeholders, and leverage internal resources will be instrumental in achieving our collective goals.
  • Strong coaching skills are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of effectively coaching and developing team members, fostering their professional growth and maximizing their potential. The ability to provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to colleagues will be instrumental in driving individual and team performance. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a passion for mentoring and empowering others, will contribute to building a high-performing sales team.
