Salary ranging from £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience, plus potential bonus+ fantastic benefits

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Detailed Production Scheduling Planner to join our Supply Chain Team at our Sudbury, Purina Petcare site.  We are passionate about quality and safety and you would share these values and be ready to assume immediate responsibility as your career develops within the UK and potentially overseas.

Plus, there’s the added advantage of London being a 45 minute train ride away from nearby Colchester.

 

A day in the life of a DPS Planner… 

 

You’ll be part of a small but friendly team, reporting to the Operations Executive Planner, as the Detailed Production Scheduling Planner you are responsible for maintaining a coordinated set of supply plans for finished and semi-finished goods in order to meet customer demand. 

 

Key responsibilities will include:
•    Working with the Operations planners and the production team to create the most effective production plans in line with market demand considering plant efficiencies and customer service.
•    Maintaining supply of goods whilst influencing total delivered costs (production, distribution and inventory costs) via effective short term decision making.
•    Ensure availability of materials to fulfil the short term requirements of the production plan via daily reviews and call off from suppliers.
•    Give visibility to the Operations Execution Planner of any short term material shortage, capacity overload or other resource utilisation issues.
•    Maintain, promote and develop high health and safety standards and to carry out all duties and specific responsibilities in compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
•    Ensure the delivery of outstanding service by proactively managing the short term call off of raw material and packaging to ensure minimal disruption to the Detailed Daily Plan.
•    Agree Daily Plan with production team, publish, track and manage exceptions.

 

What will make you successful?


To be successful in this this role we would expect you to have passion for building relationships and customer service, for the right person we are willing to work with you to develop your competencies further. 

 

We would also expect you to:
•    Previous work experience in an operations environment, ideally in Factories/ Production, Export / IMS, factory logistics or other demand planning/ supply planning. 
•    Previous experience providing great customer service. 
•    Computer literate with confidence and proven ability to work on Excel, SAP experience would be beneficial.
•    Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders across all levels.
•    Analytical, ability to challenge with a proactive mindset. 
•    You will be able to effectively manage multiple priorities and have a good eye for detail.
