Job Role

 

We’re recruiting a Delivery Tutor to provide a high quality, inspirational and supportive teaching experience for all our learners on the Uniformed Services Preparation Course.  

We’re looking for an inspirational, enthusiastic and highly motivated tutor ideally experienced and qualified instructor from a related career field – specifically from one of the tri or emergency services. 

You’ll assist our team in developing a successful Uniformed services preparation provision. Working with the Head of AEB Operations and other team members you’ll deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to a wide range of full-time and part time learners. 

Our ideal candidate will not only be an experienced teacher with the ability to create engaging and challenging lessons but also a role model for aspiring young servicemen and women who have the personal qualities, values and standards that students can aspire to. 

Ideally, you’ll have an emergency or military forces background with the experience, knowledge and skills to inspire and prepare young people for entry to the emergency services and provide them with an enjoyable, challenging and relevant learning experience that will help them achieve their career goals.

Experience of working within the further education sector is desirable as are fitness and/ or outdoor adventure qualifications. You will preferably hold graduate or equivalent level qualifications in a related discipline and have sound administrative and organisational skills.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range  £24,325 to £28,350   p.a. (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Location:   Liverpool 

Hours: 37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the induction, and training of learners
  • Support the development of course materials and deliver learning module
  • Ensure all documentation, systems and procedures are fully compliant
  • Maintain a portfolio to achieve timely outcomes of learners
  • Conduct learner assessments, planning, and collate evidence of learning
  • Ensure a professional and positive working relationship with internal and external customers and continually strive to exceed customer expectations

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Military, cadet forces or emergency services background 
  • Strong professional and vocational experience.
  • Strong background in teaching and learning.
  • Fitness/Personal Training Qualification 
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd) or equivalent.
  • Outstanding observation grading.
  • Proven experience of engaging hard to reach learners.
  • Proven experience in supporting learners towards achieving job outcome goals.
  • Experience of initial and diagnostic assessment tools.
  • Experience of delivery in the classroom and the workplace to young learners and adults.
  • L2 Functional Skills English and Maths.
  • Knowledge and experience of portfolio based teaching and learning processes
  • Ability to work flexibly to fulfil the demands of the role.
