It is truly a unique and exciting time to join Hasbro. We are one year into our Supply Chain Transformation and are building our Industrial Engineering capabilities to drive focus on productivity, value creation, and eliminating waste. The Manager of Industrial Engineering will be responsible for cost savings discovery and execution as the program owner of Design to Value (DtV). This person will lead and guide global cross functional teams through product teardowns and collision workshops to evaluate and assess opportunities across the entire bill of materials (product and packaging). They will work with internal cross functional teams and external partners to convert learning and insights into meaningful actions.
This role is hybrid which is 2 days in office per week in our Providence RI office.
A day in the life of a Manager of Industrial Engineering (DtV):
Product Optimization Subject Matter Expert – Develop Standards

- Develop the Design-to-Value (DtV) Process and Framework, as an integrated approach to Product Development considering multiple dimensions: Customer, Quality, Cost, Materials, Consumer Value Add.
- Be subject matter expert in Design to Value processes and tools such as should-cost modelling, cost and competitive benchmarking, complexity optimization, consumer insights, material specifications optimization.
- Cascade lessons learned and best practices through the development of standard processes.
- Ensure that the DtV processes are properly documented, provide work instructions which have to be used by the operational/segment teams, indicating in particular the intersection points between the functions with clear roles definition.
Product Optimization Subject Matter Expert – Practitioner

- Be aware of product related trade-offs and make best use of the customer / consumer insights, to ensure DtV improves overall product competitiveness, with proper balance of cost and attractiveness while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Liaise with Product Development functions to ensure design principles and initiatives are integrated into the forward-looking innovation pipeline.
- Provide perspectives on insights and potential manufacturing impacts, identifying key information gaps, and providing leadership in the development and execution of initial concepts as they relate to consumer value and cost savings.
Influential Cross Functional Partner

- Coach, support, and empower cross functional teams on Design to Value efforts.
- Lead global cross functional teams through product teardowns and collision workshops to evaluate and assess opportunities across the entire bill of materials (product and packaging).
- Work with internal teams and external partners to convert learning and insights into meaningful actions.
- Identify and drive leverage DtV opportunities wherever reasonable. Across business, or across segment. Use / integrate centrally managed resources as well, wherever appropriate.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience (6+ years) in product development, product optimization, Design to Value, or similar, within a global manufacturing, consumer goods environment.
- Experience in product development and/or manufacturing required.
- Understanding of Design to Value work such as should-cost modelling, cost and competitive benchmarking, complexity optimization, consumer insights, material specifications optimization.
- Business acumen and working knowledge of financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise.
- Strong planning, organization, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills to lead and influence empowered employees in a team environment.
- Presentation skills to effectively share the strategy, progress, and successes across the organization.
- Fluent in English required. Multi-lingual skills a plus.
- Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
