Interim Accounts Receivable Manager

 

MISSION

 

The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the AR team, in the collection of the Group’s cash, playing a key role in the financial viability and success of the business. The AR Manager is responsible for the invoice to cash process across the Shiseido UKI,  documenting and implementing new AR processes, to define the control framework ensuring these processes are adhered to.

ORGANISATION

 

Reports to: Group Financial Controller

Job Location: Shiseido Group London Head Office

Contract type: 12 Month FTC, Maternity Cover

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Oversee and manage the daily & monthly duties of the Credit Control function (Inbox, Debit note and query resolution, recharges, cash allocation & reconciliation)for all 3rd Party retailers, Intercompany, boutiques and ecommerce across all brands.
  • Lead a team of 2 ensuring appropriate governance and control measures are in place and complied for all OTC activities by demonstrating best practice
  • Review of monthly trade debtors reconciliations with commentary and agreeing actions plan on how to improve KPIs or highlight risks
  • Ensure sales are processed efficiently, credit limit or credit block manage accordingly, reconciliations and reviews completed on timely manner and plan actions followed up closely
  • Work in collaboration with other departments to provide information, assistance and support
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and guidance to the team setting stretching objectives and delivering regular weekly 121s for feedback and development.
  • Responsible for maintaining the master data on accounts receivable and ensuring the sub leger is closed monthly as per the time table
  • Responsible for issuing regular reporting on AR, escalating issues to GFC/FD where required
  • Manage all AR process and policy documentation. Continuously work with the Group Financial Controller to identify areas where these processes could be improved further
  • Assist with audit queries and Japanese SOX control testing, ensuring controls and process documents are complete and continually updated.
  • Work closely with the interim AR Project Manager on implementation of the new ERP system SAP S/4HANA to assess the change
  • Offer commercial insight and challenge when the business is renegotiating contracts.  This will include giving opinions on the credit worthiness of both new and existing partners.
  • Management of trade insurance policy with monthly meetings with Insurance company.
  • Assess the credit risk and limits of key accounts half yearly.
  • Manage the relationship with external debt collection agency.

 

 

PROFILE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Strong credit control background, ideally in Retail/FMCG
  • Previous experience of managing and developing an AR team
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in dealing with deductions
  • Good Experience of working with SAP
  • Ability to handle manual work and able to work under tight deadlines
  • Good Excel skills - Vlookups, Pivots, sumif
  • Experience of system changes (SAP upgrade)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to prioritise workload for self and for the team
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Personable approach but resilient when required
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business demands
