Quantity Surveyor
Glasgow
£50,878 - £53,556 per year plus Company Car or Car Allowance
37.5 hours per week
We are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team based in Glasgow. We are looking for an ambitious individual with a strong contractual understanding of housing and construction to join this growing team which will see you managing major new build developments/schemes from inception to completion.
The role of Quantity Surveyor will include:
- Contract administration and cost control roles, assisting in the management of construction projects throughout their life cycle, minimising risk and maximising value for money in line with agreed contracts, relevant UK legislation and policies
- Support the effective management of all regional capital projects to meet the needs of the Group’s customers and the wider community, maximising capital investment returns and income on all projects developed for sale.
- Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for reinvestment and ad hoc capital activities to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, compliant and environmentally sustainable properties and communities for the Group’s customers to minimise risks and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Manage risk and finance in relation to reinvestment and ad hoc capital opportunities and projects to meet required legislation and good practice and deliver financial performance.
- Manage and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that staff and suppliers are aware of, and comply with, their obligations, identifying areas for improvement so that high quality services are delivered and received.
- Support on all supply chain consultancy and contractor appointments and/or contracts to ensure compliance with legislation and ensure high quality supply chain performance.
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to AssocRIC, MRICS CIOB, Degree, HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying, currently undertaking these qualifications or prepared to undertake these qualifications with the support of Sanctuary Group
- Previous experience undertaking a similar Quantity or Project Surveyor role gained within a commercial house-builder or similar environment
- Proven experience of delivering new build housing and development projects
- Good working knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and current practice, including the practical application of Health and Safety legislation
- Experience of managing projects with strong commercial management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

- £50,878 per annum (rising to £53,556 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
- The full time equivalent salary for this role is £47,486 based on 35 hours per week rising to £49,985 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
