The role of Waking Night Support Assistant will include:
- Providing support to encourage young people with physical disabilities to maximise their own potential and independence
- Building positive relationships with residents to help encourage independent living and identify their individual needs
- Providing peace of mind for all residents by carrying out security checks throughout the night, checking on all buildings and residents
- Responding to calls should a resident need support in an emergency
- Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices
- Conducting bed calls and morning calls to a high standard
Skills and experiences:
- A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
- Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members
- Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families, and internal and external agencies
- Experience of working as a member of a team
- A positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
- Level 2 NVQ Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
