Housing Officer - Part Time

 

Woodview House, Paignton

 

£15,906 - £16,743 per year

 

18.5 hours per week

 

We are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to join our Housing Operations team in the Southwest. As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. Working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services, you will work in a team of 8 Housing Officers. The role is based at Woodview House, Paignton and will cover an area between Torbay and Exeter. This is a varied opportunity that will see you managing a range of situations and help build key relationships between Sanctuary Housing and our customers, working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services.

 

Working days are Thursday and Friday with one additional day to be agreed.

 

The role of Housing Officer will include:

  • Responsible for a patch consisting of general needs, homes for older people and homeownership properties
  • Effective management of anti-social behavior cases and complaints about service delivery
  • Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure effective allocation of void properties
  • Managing customer expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting customer welfare via appropriate channels
  • Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
  • Delivering general advice on all aspects of the tenancy to enable sustainability
  • Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting customer welfare including; domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding
  • Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes, which include; tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions, service charges and enforcement of tenancy breaches

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
  • Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
  • Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills
  • Proven experience of good practice resident involvement activities
  • Excellent understanding of written and spoken English
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £32,242 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £33,939 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
