Regional Senior Quantity Surveyor

 

Covering the North & North West

 

£60,725 - £63,921 per annum plus Company car or car allowance

 

40 hours per week

 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regional Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will be responsible for ensuring the works undertaken by the planned maintenance teams are commercially viable, and effectively support the contract management of all capital and reinvestment projects within a geographical region.

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability and knowledge to estimate a variety of repairs and maintenance projects and ensure value for money across a high volume of orders. Whilst work is predominantly completed by in house teams, the ability to negotiate and build relationships with a supply chain is vital, both contractors and suppliers/merchants.

 

The role of Regional Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:

  • Effectively manage all contractor projects, critically assessing potential new projects for financial and strategic compatibility, making recommendations to ensure they meet the needs of the Group’s customers and the wider community, and to maximise capital investment returns and income on all projects.
  • Deliver high quality and value for money projects within agreed budgets through effective financial and risk management to achieve timely completion of projects in line with legislation and good practice and ensure value for money.
  • Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for Property Services reinvestment and ad hoc capital activities to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, compliant and environmentally sustainable properties and communities for the Group’s customers to minimise risks and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Manage and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external, ensuring that staff and suppliers are aware of and comply with their obligations
  • Identifying areas for improvement and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately so that high quality services are delivered and received
  • Manage and prepare bidding documentation for new projects within deadlines, taking into consideration regulatory legal and policy related to ensure sustainable growth
  • Contribute to the delivery and development of Property Services strategy, business plan and supporting policy framework to enable delivery and achievement of business objectives.
  • Lead and manage all supply chain consultancy and contractor appointments and/or contracts to ensure compliance with legislation and ensure high quality supply chain performance

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Degree, HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying and have AssocRIC, MRICS or CIOB Membership be currently undertaking this qualification or be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group. 
  • Recent experience in undertaking a similar role
  • Proven achievement working in a commercially focussed housing and development contractor business, effectively managing related risks
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and current practice, including the practical application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Proven experience of delivering large scale reinvestment programmes and ad hoc capital projects in a social housing or similar environment
  • Substantial experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • Proven experience of managing projects and strong project management skills
  • Proven experience of delivering services within a budget
  • Working knowledge of developing and reviewing relevant policies and procedures
  • Proven experience in preparing bid documentation
  • Proven experience of effective communication at all levels
  • Proven experience in managing staff
  • Substantial supply chain procurement and framework management expertise
