We’re seeking a Domestic Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our customers.
As a Domestic Assistant you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality domestic and cleaning service to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our customers. Our Domestic Assistants maintain the cleanliness of communal areas as well as providing a personalised domestic service to our customers in their apartments.
St Johns is new scheme located in vibrant and culturally diverse area of Streatham and overlooking Streatham common. It provides long term supported housing with care for 14 adults. We provide care and support for adults aged 18 and over, who have physical disabilities and sensory impairments who need support to maintain their independent housing and independent living skills.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has our own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Domestic Assistant will include:
- Providing a personalised domestic service to customers, fulfilling housekeeping, cleaning and domestic tasks to meet customers’ needs
- Ensuring a clean, comfortable and safe environment is maintained in the communal and service areas
- Responsible for the daily use of housekeeping equipment
- Monitoring of stock levels and reordering of supplies
Skills and experiences:
- Experience is not essential however some experience of undertaking general housekeeping or domestic duties would be desirable
- An approachable, caring and compassionate attitude is essential
- Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
- Ability to demonstrate a competent level of numeracy and literacy
- NVQ2 in Hospitality and Catering or willing to work towards, is desirable
