What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Transport Shift Manager on the ETEX Portbury site, reporting to the Transport Manager
- Shared responsibility for 45+ drivers, 5+ shunt drivers and 5+ warehouse operatives
- Full Responsibility for two direct office reports
- Working on shift, in a transport gatehouse, ensuring loads are booked in and out of site
Operations
- Supervision of two Transport Shift Operators
- Overseeing and Managing the loading of vehicles on site
- Liaising with Warehouse Shift Managers to ensure warehouse loading plans are met
- Conducting spot checks on loading and load security
- Ensuring loads are manifested and dispatched on time
- Overseeing the Supervision and debriefing of Drivers
- Overseeing the completion of transport administrative functions
- Communicating issues to the customer
- Cover for the Transport Manager or other Transport Shift Managers when absent.
- Weekend on call (1 in 3)
- Accountability for compliance at shift level, liaising with the Compliance Manager

- Liaising with Warehouse Management to ensure efficient vehicle and trailer flow
- Ensuring KPI’s are met and deliveries are made on time and in full

- National and International CPC Holder (Preferred but not essential)
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Operational Supervision at a Senior Supervisory or Operational Management level
- People Management (Disciplinaries, Return to Work etc.)
- Communicating with Customer stakeholders
- Transport Administration Management
- Managing and maintaining a strong Health and Safety culture.
- Warehouse and / or transport operations
