We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual to work as a casual Research Assistant on multiple NIH-funded studies of Latino immigrants in Maryland. The position involves direct patient interaction, medical chart abstraction using electronic health records, study database data entry, conducting literature reviews, manuscript writing, and participating in team meetings.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Principal Investigator and Program Manager in developing and implementing study-operating procedures related to recruitment, retention, and study visits while ensuring quality control procedures are followed.
Assist with IRB applications, recruitment materials, and other research-related documents.
Screen potential participants in person through interviews and/or by telephone to determine if the participant is eligible for the study.
Responsible for determining patient study eligibility and identifying potential candidates who might be interested in participating in the study.
Schedule research subjects including production of calendars and schedules for the participants.
Responsible for maintaining source documents, data entry, and accurate record keeping of all study-related information and data verification as assigned.
Manage assertively REDCap software.
Assists with literature searches, and opportunities for writing scientific manuscripts.
Participate in study meetings provide updates on protocol implementation status and make recommendations on operational issues.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Communication skills using the spoken word.
Ability to move about.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Spanish proficiency preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($23.50 HRLY targeted; Commensurate with experience)
