About the Role
This Legal Counsel role is a mid-level position (Vice President, D Band) in the Legal Solutions & Services team. This role is a legal partner role to our Corporate Solutions business unit, with a focus on advising on the development and sale of risk knowledge tech platforms/tools and other fee-based service offerings, including the Risk Data & Services solution.
What are the key responsibilities?
Review, draft and negotiate contracts in the English language, in particular SaaS agreements and similar IT platform/tool terms of access, and related commercial agreements
Analyse and advise on legal and regulatory matters as they apply to the development and offering of tech platforms/tools and fee-based service offerings, including in the insurance regulatory space
Work closely with a diverse and international group of product owners, sales teams and other cross-functional colleagues; build and maintain collaborative working relationships with our customers
Help develop policies and processes to promote the efficient management of high legal and ethical standards
Instruct and manage outside counsel (as needed)
Conduct and/or arrange internal presentations and trainings on legal topics
Monitor legal and regulatory trends affecting relevant business areas

As Swiss Re diversifies the group's income streams by developing risk knowledge tech platforms/tools and other fee-based service offerings, the Legal Solutions & Services team provides legal advice on the development and sale of these innovative products. Our team comprises 9 people based in locations across Europe and North America. About You
Qualifications and Experience
You are fully qualified lawyer (bar exam/practising certificate) with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, preferably with a law firm or in-house in the (re)insurance or tech industry
You are experienced in tech and data related regulations with a track record in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
You are able to negotiate and work professionally in English; additional languages are a plus
You provide high-quality, timely client service that is balanced with a clear focus on protecting the interests and reputation of the firm
You adopt a pragmatic, solutions-focused, consultative approach to problem-solving
