About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Head Data Governance to join our Global Governance function at iptiQ. You will be leading a community of both technical and business experts in understanding, defining, and implementing robust Data Governance processes and solutions across different regions. As a data driven company, we must build trust and ownership of our data assets, therefore the role will involve collaborating closely with senior level executives. Your expertise in data governance, regulatory compliance, and data management will be critical in ensuring data quality, integrity, and alignment with industry best practices within iptiQ. Data protection and automation are on top of your mind, and you will interact closely with Business Leads, Technical Leads and Group Functions to build engagement, custodian- and stewardship of our internal data assets to ensure data governance policies along with data quality requirements are well defined and applied.
Your responsibilities include:
• Lead development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance strategy and framework that aligns with the organization's goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Establish global data governance covering all pillars of the data eco-system, in particular the Foundation pillar (data blueprint, data model, data/business glossary, data dictionary, data catalogue and meta-data management processes), define and formalize roles (data ownership, data stewardship, data custodianship) and data lifecycle processes
• Own standards on data management and ensure their implementation incl. internal auditable controls and review processes
• Drive data ownership while effectively engaging with the business leaders and experts to identify business data owners and deliver training and support
• Regularly review established data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency, transparency, and accountability in data management practices
• Establish data quality standards and metrics, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability
• Stay informed about data protection and privacy regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant laws, ensure compliance
• Monitor and analyse data quality reports and metrics, identify areas for continuous improvement

About you:
We are seeking a standout communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, able to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your strong analytical skills will help you to assess data governance challenges, identify solutions, and implement effective strategies.
You will demonstrate:
• Master’s Degree in business administration, computer science or other relevant area
• 10+ years of experience in a management role, covering data governance, data management, or a related field in the digital, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices as well as data protection and privacy regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry guidelines
• Experience in establishing and implementing programs, including data governance programs, policies, and procedures
• Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies, data modelling, and metadata management
• Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize tasks effectively
• Proficiency in English is a requirement
