Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs. Interact with the general public as NYU contact/liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Customize and/or compose letters in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing and/or data entry duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants.
Required Education:High School diploma or equivalent or an Associate's degree or some college.Preferred Education:Bachelor's degree.Required Experience:3 years of office experience (with High School diploma). 2 years of office experience (with Associate's degree or some college). Experience providing a high-level of customer service.Preferred Experience:1-2 years of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Knowledge of Access.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $36.53. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
