New England Donor Services (NEDS) coordinates organ and tissue donation in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, the eastern counties of Vermont and Bermuda. Responsible for one of the largest of the 56 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) that make up the nation’s donation system, NEDS works with over 200 hospitals and serves 14 million people in our region, screening nearly 55,000 potential donor referrals annually. With approximately $110M in operating revenues, NEDS employs 330 clinical and non-clinical staff members throughout New England and across the country.

As an Organ Clinical Coordinator (OCC) you will be part of a challenging, fast paced environment answering incoming referral calls, screening for donor suitability and coordinating the logistics of organ recoveries and placement for transplantation. At the end of each day, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you contributed to life saving and life enhancing initiatives.
Overview:
NEDS is looking for energetic, hard-working, positive individuals to be a hospital’s and/or transplant center’s first point of contact for organ donation and transplantation. The OCC has regular contact with transplant surgeons and transplant coordinators as well as other key hospital staff members in facilitating the transplant process. The OCC is an exciting, unique, and pivotal role in the world of health care, offering the qualified individual a challenging work life with a primary focus on extending and saving lives through organ transplantation.
Successful candidates can include ER Tech, EMTs, Paramedics, Medical Assistants, LPNs as well as others with some medical or health sciences experience.
Schedule:
12 hour shifts (3 per week) + 12 hour on-call shift (1 per week). Shifts are typically 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am, with the possibility for a swing shift from 11 am to 11 pm or 2 pm to 2 am. Will work overnights, holidays and weekends.
Schedule is subject to change and flexibility is a must.
