Your Impact
As a Sr. Operations Analyst I on the Global Operations team at Axon, you will be directly involved in ensuring Axon products make it into the hands of its customers efficiently and effectively. The Operations Analyst will utilize their background and experience in Operations to support Axon’s strategic priorities of scaling new products and driving efficiency to fuel growth. By taking initiative on developing analytics for the Operations team, you will help us mitigate costs and market risks while assisting on building out dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and predictive analytics end-to-end. The team will rely on you to support continuous improvement for the Global Operations Team by providing actionable insights through data and metrics to key stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
Location: Scottsdale, AZ 
Reports to: Global Analytics Manager
Direct Reports: none

  • Manage, track, and evaluate operational activity and KPIs across Operations team; Improve real-time data visibility to the team for key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Create & analyze reports helpful for the business to perform better, adding sophistication, and scaling while driving efficiency. Identify trends and business opportunities through analysis of complex datasets.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for projects and day-to-day operations providing actionable data insights. Utilizes advanced expertise to solve complex technical problems & inform directional decisions. 
  • Synthesize and simplify complex data and quantitative findings into meaningful business recommendations that drive financial and operational performance improvement.
  • Promote the use of Automation in Analytics. Partner with various IT teams and Operational Excellence Automation COE to utilize the latest trends to leverage AI tools. 
  • Work as a member of a cross-functional team to propose and implement high-impact data and analytic solutions that address business challenges across Operations business units.
  • Present complex information using data visualization techniques.
  • Work with diverse technical and business teams and provide data and analytics oversight to ensure project deliverables fulfill business needs and timing.
  • Bridge understanding of processes & best practices across Operations functions (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality) with back-end system data available to develop representative data solutions.
  • Manage projects end-to-end throughout the Data Life Cycle. This includes capturing clear user requirements via user stories and other tools to best understand and enhance the user experience. 

What You Bring

  • B.S. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Economics, Data Science or other quantitative field
  • Requires at least 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree or technical program; or equivalent work experience.
  • Big Data Tools: 
    • Advanced Power BI (Power Query) or similar data visualization software. Ability to write complex DAX functions.
    • Advanced SQL Database experience, Ability to both interpret & write complex data queries.
    • Experience interfacing with Snowflake
    • ERP systems such as D365
    • Microsoft Power Automate 
    • Microsoft Power Apps
  • Proven record of supporting Operations functions such as: Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality; or experience working in a fast, paced Operations environment
  • Basic project management skills: Stakeholder Management, Time Management, & Communication
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects at once without sacrificing quality
  • Ability to evaluate the big picture and solve business problems rather than focusing solely on metrics
  • Passion and proven interest in staying current to latest tools for analytics such as Artificial Intelligence, Snowflake Data Cloud, Alteryx, etc.

The Pay

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 49,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 88,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
