Your Impact

The Global Tax Senior Director will own global tax accounting and global income tax reporting for all entities in the Axon group. The position reports to the VP Tax and will play a key role in leading and mentoring the tax team in completing the global ASC 740 tax provision process from planning and forecasting through to calculations, recording, analysis and finally reporting to the taxing jurisdictions.

This senior finance leader is a key partner to the business and various cross-functional teams and will assist in the development of and alignment with strategic business and tax objectives to ensure global tax compliance and tax efficiencies.

What You’ll Do

Location: Remotely from USA

Reports to: Vice President, Tax

  • Oversee the process planning, preparation and review of ASC 740 worldwide US GAAP income tax provision, including international entity provisions, with a focus on the complexities of executive compensation limitations and stock compensation plans, tax credits, accounting for uncertain tax positions, accounting for the tax impacts of M&A transactions, and disclosures.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to transform the tax Close and streamline the global tax accounting process.
  • Work with the accounting and finance teams, as well as external consultants, to deliver timely and consistent results.
  • Oversee US and foreign corporate income tax compliance for multi-national and multi-state filings, including additional informational filings.
  • Oversee the relationship with service providers and consultants to continuously improve and streamline the income tax compliance process.
  • Oversee the communications and collaboration with external auditors.
  • Review and collaborate on transfer pricing methodology and strategy with accounting team as well as ownership of CbCR, transfer pricing documentation, and Pillar Two reporting.
  • Partner on team’s efforts related to systems and automation including enterprise-wide systems projects, such as ERP upgrades, and drive tax team standardization and adoption of tax technology tools, such as Alteryx and Power BI.
  • Collaborate with statutory audit team and external consultants to review local tax provision calculations and local income tax filings.
  • Ensure robust internal controls over the income tax provision process.
  • Advise the business on tax issues related to customer and supplier transactions including review and negotiation of material contracts.
  • Monitor tax legislation and changes to tax laws and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Research, assess, document and communicate any relevant developments, impact and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support ad hoc projects that arise due to our rapid growth.

What You Bring

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • BS or equivalent in accounting or finance
  • CPA
  • A combination of Big 4 and industry experience within a multinational publicly-traded company
  • Strong knowledge of US international tax concepts, including international mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, transfer pricing, subpart F/GILTI and foreign tax credits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization and technology skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be hands-on and experienced in driving process improvement in a fast-paced complex environment
  • Experience with M&A integration
  • The ideal candidate may also have experience with ERP system, Microsoft D365

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 160,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 240,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
