As Mobile World Live Sales Manager, you manages a portfolio of existing and new business clients. Clients will range from smaller one-off advertisers to strategic clients that generate significant revenue. You work towards the aim of developing a portfolio of repeat clients, building rapport and up-selling where appropriate. You create a multi-pronged advertising plan to meet clients annual objectives and ensure effective client management. You are responsible for managing client relationships and using a consultative sales approach to win business and meet personal sales targets. Activities include proposal writing, sourcing leads, developing new business clients, selling over the phone and face to face. You work collaboratively across the Sales team and other GSMA departments to support collaboration and effective ways of working.

About the Role

The GSMA seeks a talented and experienced Sales Manager to deliver its Mobile World Live branded services globally to tech and telco sectors.


Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing a portfolio of existing business - expanding and upselling to increase revenue

  • Identifying prospects from the GSMA’s extensive sales database to generate a new business pipeline

  • Targeting lapsed advertising clients and bringing them back into the fold

  • Using the wide set of media products available to generate revenues against an annual sales target

  • Liaising with other sales teams in the GSMA’s business to identify cross selling opportunities

  • Working with the sales director on an ongoing basis to develop new products and revenue streams

About You

This is an exciting role for someone who has plenty of energy and enthusiasm for media sales. First and foremost, you need to have a proven track record of sales – preferably in the digital media space, but other industries also considered.  Secondly you must have a clear interest in the digital and telco industry – if you are passionate about tech you will flourish here. A relationship with clients in the mobile industry would be a definite plus. This role will require self-discipline and motivation. The ideal candidate will have extensive media knowledge, commercial acumen, great communication skills, and a proven track record of selling to senior stakeholders.

Specific criteria and competencies required:

  • Media sales experience at a senior level in the digital B2B market

  • Proven success developing and implementing B2B digital sales strategies and campaigns that deliver commercial impact

  • A history of exceeding KPI’s and targets

  • Proven success managing annual sales campaigns and tailoring requirements to different regions

  • Senior stakeholder management exposure

  • Top notch communication skills - verbal, written and social

  • Prolific in using social media for business to generate awareness and leads

  • Collaborative in nature
