Summary:
The “Material Handler” will be based in ……., reporting to ……
This role will be In charge of performing the physical or combined administrative/physical tasks involved in the storing, counting and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, cost and type of material stocked and issued, and prepares material requisitions.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring a continuous supply of materials to production lines.
- Providing the specified workstations with sufficient quantities of parts.
- Maintaining a continuous flow of materials to the specified production lines.
- Works from requisition, order list or stock list to pull required items.
- Uses a checklist as items are pulled to ensure kit accuracy.
- Accumulates orders, reports shortages and transports completed orders to distribution point or staging area.
- Processes returned items and unscheduled issues.
- Compiles and maintains inventory of material received, stocked, and issued.
- Prepares requests for procurement of material.
- Full compliance with material handling instructions.
- Maintaining order in the warehouse and on the production line.
- Providing immediate information on any material shortages detected.
- Collect and dispose of waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Attend the training courses required for his/her group or classification.
- Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- Take inventory of stored items through cycle counting.
- May audit kits for accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school, vocational training or equivalent is preferred.
