Demand Planning Supervisor 

As a Demand Planning Supervisor, you’ll be part of our Industrial Global Supply Chain team working as an on-site employee.    

You’ll get to:   

  • This position’s primary responsibilities are to develop, organize, and monitor the overall master production schedule plan to support the division's sales and customer service objectives.
  • Manage, train, coach and develop team members to support the business.
  • Develops the master schedule, material requirements lists, and production plans for complex products and/or production processes where the manufacturing processes may be new and/or variable.
  • Works with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Reports on actual customer demand, trends, and forecasts, and adjusts capacity plans accordingly.
  • Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work in process into a master production schedule with a time-phased build schedule, providing confirmations for customer demand.
  • Manage and maintain MTO and MTS methodologies.
  • Determines production priorities. Reviews all customer expedite requests and proposed orders booked at less than lead-time to balance production capability and business plan objectives with customer needs.
  • Serves as SIOP expert, leads and coordinates SIOP Planning process; collaborates with supporting departments and senior management to resolve problems of unique and considerable scope and complexity that may adversely affect sales objectives.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements changes to the planning process consistent with continuous improvement goals.
  • Acts as the primary customer contact for matters regarding production status, schedule changes, shipping information, and returned material.
  • Publishes production plans/schedules by identifying products, equipment, sequence, completion dates, etc.
  • Revises the master schedule as necessary when material shortages or capacity issues cannot be resolved to meet schedule.
  • Reports significant deviations to contract administration and senior management.
  • Recommends alternative plans to management when necessary to achieve divisional goals.
  • Complies with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
  • Applies and may lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of internal systems and processes within the division and/or with supplier and/or customer involvement.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. Analyzes and proposes changes in methods.
  • Advanced specialized knowledge of manufacturing resource planning principles, automated systems, industry practices, regulations, and policies
  • Ability to effectively assess, lead, and implement continuous improvement methods (e.g., pull systems, JIT)

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; Business Administration, and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
  • Minimum of 5 years planning or logistics experience with 3 of those years being in manufacturing.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning or Material Resource Planning experience is required.
  • Ability to utilize ERP or MRP Software.  JDE is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated capability working with Microsoft Office suite of products; extremely proficient in Excel formulas, look-ups and pivot tables. Query capability is a plus.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
