The Job:
- Utilize MRP system functionalities to develop production plans and schedules that optimize resource utilization and meet customer delivery expectations.
- Analyze production capacity and constraints within MRP system to balance workload and adjust schedules as necessary.
- Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to ensure smooth execution of the production schedule.
- Works with Purchasing, Materials, Manufacturing, and intercompany team to identify challenges and solutions to meet customer order fulfillment dates.
- Identifies alternate solutions to meet customer want date and/or original confirm date. Reports and escalates potential and existing late customer deliveries.
- Monitor production progress within MRP system and identify potential bottlenecks or delays, taking proactive measures to address them.
- Communicate schedule changes and updates within MRP system to relevant stakeholders, including the operations team, procurement, and customer service.
- Generate reports within MRP system on production activities, schedule adherence, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Create, review and maintain BOM, routing and system parameters for new manufactured parts.
- Serve as order planning coordinator between our team and our internal customer.
The Person:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or relevant experience
- Proven experience as a planner/scheduler in a manufacturing environment, utilizing MRP system.
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Strong understanding of production planning principles, scheduling techniques, and inventory management
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
