Purpose

CribMaster is currently collaborating with PervasID, an innovative RFID technology hardware and software provider (with HQ in Cambridge England). https://www.cribmaster.com/

Responsible for the installation of CribMaster hardware and software solutions at customer sites, to effectively deliver inventory management solutions. The work will include new equipment installations as well as upgrades, repairs or maintenance to existing systems, in addition to being able to carry out basic / introductory training sessions. Represent CribMaster during on-site implementations, working effectively as part of a wider technical team.

This position will require significant travel mainly across Europe & UK, with the majority of time being field based - mostly to factories in the automotive, aerospace and industrial sectors.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical generalist with knowledge of IT hardware, software, data, networking, and as a bonus be already familiar and comfortable with Inventory Management Solutions, including RFID technology; with a healthy curiosity about how things work.

The Job (responsibilities):

  • Works closely with project coordination to ensure all software and hardware to be used for customer site installation, including, but not limited to, ensuring all machine configurations are correct and data is imported and cleaned
  • Acts as the customer’s technical advocate and makes recommendations that facilitate efficient and productive implementations
  • Understands various deployment options of CribMaster products and ensures these are utilized to meet customer needs
  • Follows detailed installation processes and procedures
  • Prepares and provides basic product training to meet customer needs, whilst working closely with the Training & Support Specialist
  • Develops custom documentation to match customer processes
  • Develops solutions and educates customers in various stages of product implementation
  • Assists with preparing formal project plans for customers
  • Supports the sales team with all opportunities including pre-sale customer site surveys
  • Completes RFID / Non-RFID implementations, training, and post implementation support.

The Person (requirements):

  • Technical installation support experience; field service, field engineering
  • Strong technical generalist with knowledge of IT hardware, software, data, networking
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use standard hand tools to repair/replace mechanical and electronic components. Basic knowledge of electricity and radio.
  • Advantage: familiar with Inventory Management Solutions, including RFID technology (CribMaster knowledge is a major advantage)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, networking basics; with experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting software
  • Fundamental understanding of databases, particularly SQL definitions
  • Solid Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of IOT technologies is a plus
  • Proficient in English, other languages a plus point (French, Italian, Spanish), with strong communication skills (formal, informal, and technical)
  • Ability to self-learn
  • Well organized, pro-active, efficient
  • Good interpersonal skills, team player
  • Ability to work safely in potentially dangerous environments that include welding, milling, stamping, heavy machinery, high-temperatures, platforms, ladders, enclosed spaces, and chemicals.
  • Ability to travel in Europe region
