The AtkinsRéalis Manchester office is seeking to recruit an ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR within our Industry Business Sector. This business sector contains a number of blue-chip client organisations and as a result some of the projects you will be providing assistance to are high profile. By the very nature of the projects, you will be expected to work on there is a high emphasis on forming part of a team approach to project delivery. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be a fundamental member of the relevant site-based client team and support senior staff within the client office to deliver quality commercial support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic individual to gain experience and training in the industry sector, with the necessary senior management support to develop your career to the next level.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Be based on the client site in Cheshire 4 days per week.
  • Work as part of a team, providing commercial assistance to the client on a day-to-day basis.
  • Carry out both pre and post contract work.
  • Assist in the preparation of various classes of estimates based on available design information.
  • Agreement of valuations and site measures with contractors.
  • Produce monthly project reports.
  • Interface with the client site finance system in respect of reporting project costs.
  • Processing contract invoices for payment.
  • Production of reports for client review.
  • Agreement of final accounts.
  • Production of minor order of cost estimates for small projects.
  • Attend and participate in Project Kick off meetings.
  • Support the client PM and project team with the management of contracts.
  • Support project reviews and audits.

Candidate Requirements:

  • BSc In Quantity Surveying with post-graduation experience.
  • Numerically accurate Logical and concise application of technical surveying principles as directed and under guidance.
  • Ability to demonstrate application of a number of aspects of the Quantity Surveying functions.
  • Continual improvement in the general knowledge of the construction industry and Industry Sector.
  • Sensible referral of problems to Team Leader/Senior Staff.
  • Increasing awareness of contractual obligations, breaches, and remedies.
  • Competent of taking ownership of small projects with minimum supervision.
  • Aptitude for a logical approach to problems and work generally.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.  If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
