Purpose of Position:
This is a leading role within the team for information collection, collation and visualization to enable informed security decision-making based on sound data. The analyst will identify and scrutinize sources and critically assess the reliability of the information rapidly, and enable others to do so through training and mentoring.
The analyst will use connections in the field of geopolitical analysis for information sharing and benchmarking. The role supports the team through data analysis using quantitative and qualitative approaches. It leads information and knowledge management to support the wider security team with timely access to information through practical channels. This includes excellent verbal communication, database-management and an ability to map and present complex information in easily digestible formats to senior leaders and other audiences.
The role will assist in monitoring global security risks, trends and crises, assisting with tactical and strategic analysis and situation updates to enable operations in high-risk contexts.
Major Responsibilities
Data and information management, analytics and visualisation
The analyst will provide leadership for the team’s data management. This includes coordinating regular internal security information as well as supporting the presentation of security material externally. The analyst will arrange data into presentable formats that are suitable for the intended audience, using a variety of platforms including PowerBI, Sharepoint, Excel and Powerpoint. Products include Context Risk Ratings, Monthly Security Briefings, incident updates and other similar pieces.
Tactical Analysis
The analyst will provide tactical security analysis and information to enable good decision-making in high-risk and fragile contexts. This will ensure that leaders and security staff are well-supported during high-intensity times, with the analyst collating and organising information for their audience, including liaising with external security analysis providers.
Strategic analysis and strategy support
The analyst will support forecasting analysis and the development of Field Office security strategies in collaboration with other teams. This will include using data to inform senior leadership teams of the likely risks they face in the short, medium and long-term.
Capacity Building
Provide training and support for global, regional and field-based staff on matters related to security analysis and data management, including the use of mapping techniques such as GIS. This will enable sound local information for decision-making as well as an increased ability at field level to collect, use and share security data.
Internal and external stakeholder-engagement
The analyst will participate in internal coordination processes as well as liaise with external contacts such as security providers and partner organisation as needed.
Other tasks
This includes supporting the other team-members with ongoing projects, thought-leadership tasks and direct support and mentoring to field offices security staff on implementation of the core security requirements as part of programme design and implementation

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time and includes occasional travel to high risk locations at minimal notice.
Depending on location the position may require home based working with some unsociable hours due to global coverage and online meetings.
Willingness to work for a faith-based Christian organisation.
Physical requirements
Role will require successful completion of Hostile Environment Awareness Training provided by employer.
Language requirements
Effective in written and verbal communication in English.
Preferred additional written and verbal language skills in Spanish, French, Portuguese or Arabic.
