Maintenance Electrician Tech’s main focus is to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant production machinery. He/she works with Production Supervisor and Maintenance Manager to ensure timely repair of equipment. The Electrical Tech supports equipment, building maintenance, and other systems throughout the site to maintain optimum operating conditions and plant productivity. He/she will also assist with related upgrades, improvements, and other assigned projects as required. Multi-tasking and a sense of urgency are required daily to prevent excessive downtime of equipment.

Responsible for installing electrical equipment, instrumentation, and related equipment using drawings, schematics, and manuals
Repair and install motors, motor controls, transformers, and VFD’s
Installation of conduit, lights, video systems, and ethernet cables CAT-5 and CAT-6
Knowledge of servo drives
Able to use multimeters, amp meters, ohm meters, and Oscilloscope.
Able to plan and generate drawings and order parts and supplies for projects when assigned
Documenting all builds and updating any changes made to schematics or manuals
Manages have machines/equipment running when downtime occurs
Manages electrical parts inventory and orders necessary parts
Must work with the Production Supervisor to ensure equipment is maintained properly by operators
Tracks electrical breakdowns to develop preventive action plans
Reports all major issues to the Maintenance Supervisor, General Manager and Production Supervisor
Works as a coordinator for outside electrical maintenance vendors
Troubleshooting equipment failures of all types and other duties as assigned
5-S Representative for Maintenance-electrical area
Responsible for the quality of all work performed
Accountable for any information needed by the Quality Steering Team
Position Details:
Plant location: Swannanoa, NC
Work week and shift: 1st Shift Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:00 pm with some weekends
Compensation package offered: $28.50 per hour with some OT
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1 year previous experience industrial / facility maintenance
Must have knowledge of building operating systems
Working electrical/mechanical knowledge of general equipment function is expected and required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
Preferred Qualifications:
Read and interprets manuals, schematics, blueprints drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions
Knowledge of programming PLC’s. or understanding the logic
Knowledge of Transformers, and UPS systems
Knowledge of electrical wiring and local codes
Knowledge of general equipment (electrical and mechanical)
