The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Senior Compensation Manager - Americas to join our organization, as strategic consultant to HR Business Partners and Business Leaders on compensation matters across North and South America.

This role will be a full-time, remote position. 

What we’re looking for  

  • Education: College degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of Human Resources experience preferred with an emphasis on compensation.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills

  • Must have a proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers.

  • Ability to approach work with a process orientation, exercise good judgment and communicate effectively with all those employed by the organization. 

  • Strong written and oral communication and interaction skills are required. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (including vlookup, pivot tables) and PowerPoint are essential. 

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, and work independently and proactively. 

How you will thrive and create an impact  

  • Plays an active role in implementing the compensation strategy and leading the projects -  annual benchmarking/pre-planning, salary structure, statutory wage planning, bonus design/harmonization and global job levelling.

  • Collaborates and educate HR partners, Talent Acquisition, leadership teams and other stakeholders to understand the effectiveness of existing compensation programs, procedures, and systems developing pay strategies that are responsive to market compensation trends and company objectives.

  • Works with the HR Business Partners to evaluate and audit positions within the organization to ensure consistent and equitable compliance across all levels, as well as competitive pay levels with relevant external markets.

  • Ensures Company compensation programs and policies comply with all relevant government regulations, laws, employment standards, and agreements with labor unions.

  • Monitors the effectiveness of Compensation governance framework, existing programs and policies, providing analytics and recommending process and design enhancements that are cost-effective.

  • Leads compensation processes including: global market pricing activities, salary structure updates, the annual pay review budgeting and planning cycle, and the company’s annual incentive plans.

  • Provides Internal and external market insights, advice on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related issues.

  • May assist with ongoing maintenance of various compensation programs including updates in our global HRIS system, job description posting process, survey participation, etc.

  • Manage and coach the Americas compensation team in consulting with HR partners and the business on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, applying a consistent framework in providing advice on compensation-related business and retention needs.

  • Oversee vendor relations and budgeting within the compensation cost center.

  • Collaborate with the US Benefits team, Regional Compensation team, and Executive Compensation team to enhance compensation effectiveness

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$117,000.00 - $195,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
