FactSet is looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our Banker Automation team, focusing on using Generative AI to improve the pitchbook creation process. The team is developing products that provide bankers with an innovative end-to-end workflow solution to create charts, slides, and tables in an automated fashion. This is an opportunity to work on the leading edge of Generative AI in financial solutions technology.
Our products include our Microsoft Office add-in, which integrates FactSet data and smarts into the Office suite. We use a variety of languages and technologies, including C#/.NET based PC components, C++/Python/Node based web services, and TypeScript/Angular/Vue based websites. The Senior Software Engineer should be familiar with some of these technologies and willing to learn the rest. They should also be familiar with GenAI concepts and interested in applying them to our product.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality code.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product developers and strategists to brainstorm ideas, implement prototypes and gather feedback.
- Follow best practices such as code reviews, testing, documentation, and version control.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications and systems.
Requirements
- Strong software development fundamentals in object-oriented programming.
- Experience developing C#/.NET applications running in a Windows environment.
- Willingness to learn other languages and technologies in the team’s tech stack.
- Familiarity with GenAI concepts (such as prompt engineering and RAG) and how to apply them to existing workflows.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to start with ambiguously defined problems and work them into concrete solutions.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Highly Desired
- Experience with using the Office API or VBA to automate actions in Office
- Some hands-on experience developing WinForms or WPF desktop applications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience developing with C++, TypeScript and/or Python.
- Experience with web and API development
