Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and reconciliations.
Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement or potential risks.
Conduct research and gather relevant information to support financial decision-making processes.
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering data, performing variance analysis, and preparing budget reports.
Assist in the development of financial models to forecast future financial performance and evaluate strategic initiatives.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable research, including customer freight and/or quality recharges.
Support purchasing functions by monitoring purchase orders, receipts and supplier invoices, and following up on outstanding deliveries.
Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including census bureau and government reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Help maintain financial documentation and records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Support compliance efforts by assisting with audits, regulatory filings, and internal controls testing.
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies to minimize risk and maintain integrity in financial operations.
Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including organizing files, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
Assist with special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a BS or MS degree program in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Strong academic background with coursework in finance, accounting, and quantitative analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Prior internship experience in finance or related fields is preferred but not required.
