Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for Junior Project Manager who will lead the successful delivery of defined project work packages as delegated by the Project Manager and requiring deployment of project control and project management techniques. The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of projects or work packages of limited complexity to budget, schedule, scope & risk management. The role may include some team leadership responsibilities. 

What you'll be doing

  •  Assisting the project manager across all aspects of project management for a project, including the deployment of project control and project management techniques.
  • Managing subcontracts, work packages and/or small projects, ensure delivery to budget, schedule, scope, risk management and quality of the contract.
  • Issuing authorisations for work within the scope of own activity, i.e. release of budget such that work can be undertaken and the contract or project delivered.
  • Collating data for area of responsibility for contract service reviews and submit to project manager for inclusion into project Business Performance Reviews and Contract Reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with all project management tools and techniques, e.g. Life cycle management, risk registers, change control, etc.
  • Assisting with decision making for projects on resourcing strategy, subcontract and supply chain activity.
  • Collating, assemble and make presentations at Business Performance Reviews and Contract Reviews.
  • Leading or oversee the work of a small project management team, ensure team is deployed efficiently, trained and developed to ensure responsibilities are discharged in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Investment Management business teams
  • Knowledge of Front Office platforms in Investment Management
  • Experience of technical delivery of platform migrations to new architecture
  • Experience of Agile/iterative delivery methodologies, e.g. SAFe, Scrum
  • Sound understanding of IT software and infrastructure
  • Experience of project budgeting and defining roadmaps
  • Proven track record of personally managing successful projects
  • Experience of running projects which introduce organisational and business process change
  • Demonstrable business analysis skills
  • Leadership and matrix management skills
  • Structured approach to project/programme management
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proven experience of managing agile delivery functions
  • Experience in facilitating and running workshops
