We’re looking for undergraduates who can answer “yes” to the above for our Summer Internship Programme. You’ll join us in one of L&G’s Retail division, gaining valuable insights over the course of the 8-week placement that starts on the 1st July.
Please note, we can only accept 1 application per person across all of our intern programmes. Therefore, please think carefully about the programme you intend to apply for. Your first application will be considered as your only application.
What does the team do?
The Workplace team are responsible for the strategy, development, and on-going maintenance and governance of Legal & General’s market-leading UK Defined Contribution (DC), contract and trust-based, workplace pension products. They are responsible for designing innovative new solutions that meet customers’ needs and are commercially attractive for Legal & General, as well as launching new products in a timely and controlled way. Through their work, they help millions of customers save for their retirement and provide them with the flexibility to access to the full range of pension freedoms in retirement.
The team enable employers, trustees and advisers to meet the requirements of auto-enrolment legislation via competitively priced, high-quality products that adapt and evolve as the savings and pension landscape changes. We also provide direct to consumer saving solutions via our Personal Pension and Stocks & Shares Individual Savings Account (ISA).

Our Assessment process typically involves the following stages, but may vary slightly from scheme to scheme.
Application form
Captures essential information from candidate and is an opportunity to provide their CV
Online tests
Assessment centre (either face to face or virtual) comprised of:
Group Exercise - candidates are given a task to work on in groups of up to 6 and observed
Interview - Conducted by 2 assessors, 45 minutes including time for questions from the candidate, questions include competency and commercial based questions
Presentation - 15 minutes in duration, 10 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions from assessor
