Your role at a glance

Due to exciting transformation, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for a commercial, collaborative, and driven individual, with experience in Supplier Relationship Management with Technology or Asset Management suppliers, to join our Procurement & Supplier Management (GPSM) team as a Supplier Relationship Manager.

In this exciting role you’ll be responsible for both overseeing and managing the commercial, performance and contractual relationship of a portfolio of L&G critical, high value and tier 2 supplier(s) across both IT and non-IT categories. for a specific business unit(s). You’ll be Business partnering with both L&G business and supplier senior leadership teams, to building and maintaining strong networks, identifying, and delivering additional value from the Legal & General supply chain.

You’ll play a key role in helping us to mature the function as you can influence the direction of policy and the way that we operate. You’ll have lots of autonomy and variety with your day-to-day work, giving you a sense of ownership, and the freedom to be curious and bring new ideas to the table.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for ensuring full compliance to Supplier Relationship Management policy, standards, and processes across a portfolio of supplier relationships by being responsible for an assigned set of suppliers and managing them accordingly.
  • Ensure successful implementation of the Supplier Management strategy and proposition across a portfolio of Legal & General suppliers for goods and services to meet the business objectives within the most appropriate time, quality, and cost parameters.
  • Ensure that commercial and operational services received from in-scope suppliers are consistent with other companies, including benchmarking new and existing services to ensure that commercial terms are appropriate and fit for purpose.
  • Conduct regular reviews of contract service performance through the contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and work with both internal and external stakeholders and in-scope service providers to deliver operational efficiencies.
  • Support and implement programmes of change deemed appropriate to embed revisions to terms which will lead to successful supplier and L&G performance.
  • Collaborate with cross functional Procurement and SRM teams to support contract negotiations and renewals for in-scope suppliers as and when necessary to ensure strong commercial outcomes and no operational disruptions are caused by Legal & General suppliers.
  • Lead dispute resolution with appropriate parties to ensure all contractual disputes are fully resolved in a timely manner with minimal cost or operational impacts to Legal & General.
  • Support the development and delivery of processes and systems to ensure a consistent and good level of service that means internal customers’ expectations are managed and met, is consistent with what we have communicated and is aligned to L&G’s Customer Experience and Consumer duty accountability

 

Qualifications

  • Proven commercial experience gained from a supplier/vendor management, supply chain, category management, or business development background
  • You’ll be proficient in SRM best practices and strategies.
  • You’ll have experience in managing Technology Suppliers, or suppliers in an Asset Management/Financial Services environment.
  • Ability to influence others with a collaborative, inclusive and engaging style with a practical, approach to delivering successful, collaborative outcomes to support evolving business needs.
  • Experience of building and maintaining networks with key stakeholders and leadership teams across both organisational and supplier boundaries.
