Job Description
Legal and General Retail business are currently looking to hire a new Automation Test Analyst into the testing team to carry out automation testing processes consistent with L&G test policy and strategy.
You will be working as part of the test team to ensure that efficient automation testing is delivered to the agreed quality standards as the business continues its journey of technical change and transformation.
What you’ll be Doing
- Managing and delivering the automation of testing of core applications within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality while maintaining an ongoing automation process for business and technical systems.
- Developing, designing and checking architectural governance and compliance of design solutions and educating the team and stakeholders to ensure that business and information technology solutions are consistent with business requirements and needs.
- Ensuring that testers are familiar and up to date with current solutions and ongoing development of automated testing
- Conducting test reviews (including Static testing) throughout the development lifecycle, to identify any artefacts that are not fit for purpose.
- Ensuring compliance with the agreed test methodology and standards to ensure good governance and record keeping in line with Legal & General test principles and commercial interests.
- Providing input into defining the appropriate test approach in collaboration with the Test Manager to ensure effective Test preparation and execution, which mitigates business risk.
- Providing effective communication to Test Managers and Business users to support the smooth delivery of the test activity including progress reports and defect status for example.
- Owning the creation of the Test Analysis deliverables including Acceptance Criteria, throughout the whole project lifecycle applying best practice testing principles to ensure cost effective testing whilst balancing business risk and determining the adequate level of Test Coverage in collaboration with the Test Manager, Business Analysts and Business Users and provide input into the testing estimates.
- Performing test execution, involving leading business resources where required, as agreed in the BAT Stage Test Plan and raise defects on ALM or JIRA and retesting defect fixes when deployed to the test environments.
Qualifications
- Full understanding of a variety of test analysis techniques and their implementation
- Should have good knowledge of BDD, TDD, and automation tool sets and different test process and methodologies
- Full understanding of the creation and execution of test scripts
- Good understanding of the different drivers and needs of customers, distributors, and partners
- Working knowledge of L&G Business Unit products and services, and of competitor markets and broader market developments and can evaluate their impact upon the organisation
- Detailed Knowledge and understanding of systems and structures within Business Units
- Good Understanding of L&G wide systems, structures, and dependencies
- Experience in at least 2 test methodologies (for example Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, Extreme) across multiple projects
- At least 2 years’ experience in scripting with languages like Java, C#
- At least 2 years hands on experience in developing automation test scripts as also in creation of test automation framework, and design
- Experience in core JAVA, Selenium, Appium, TestNG, jUnit
- Experienced in using JIRA, and ideally also XRay plugin to control scripting and execution of tests
- Experience in use of defect management tool
- Experience in use of several industry recognized test analysis techniques
- Experience in Financial Services Industry required, Pensions an advantage
