Job Description
We’re looking for a Product Owner – Monitoring & Events to join us in Hove!
You’ll play a key role in managing the optimal monitoring and preventative tooling landscape should be, how they should operate and ensuring they delivery the best outcomes expected of them. Working closely with the Problem Management team you’ll also provide insights that will enable continual service improvement.

What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the Head of Service Operations in driving day to day enhancements of IT solutions, defining updates to meet changing business needs, recommending improvement opportunities including (but not limited to) automation, self-healing, asset management and new tools
- Supporting the development of the vision and strategy of IT Service Operations’ tooling based on an understanding and anticipation of future business needs, and awareness of the product roadmap
- Working closely with L&G Business Unit SME’s ensuring that L&G current and future service monitoring requirements are identified, understood and documented
- Working closely with system administrators and users broadly to provide guidance and leadership around best use of the products and ensuring that all data requirements of the business are enabled through the products
- Working with The Service Delivery Management Team on delivering measurable and demonstrable improved levels of service and improving employee engagement / customer satisfaction
- Actively identifying risks, ensuring they are appropriately logged and tracked at the appropriate forums, and taking appropriate action to mitigate or resolve
- Continually working to build effective, positive working relationships with both our Service Partners and the wider IT communities, to enable us to deliver a fantastic customer service and be viewed as a single, valued IT partner
- Contributing to the success (Departmental OKR’s) of Service Operations (Major Incident, Problem, Availability, Event and Knowledge Management) activities within the team, and undertaking Continual Service Improvements as a day to day activity
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- Naturally you will have strong IT infrastructure knowledge, including an in-depth understanding of associated technologies and architectures
- Detailed knowledge of a variety of monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, SCOM and SolarWinds
- Experience of integrating tools into ServiceNow
- You’ll be well versed in working with and managing offshore and onshore IT suppliers
- Extensive experience of working in an IT Operations environment
- Experience of managing direct, matrixed and commercial resources
