Position Summary
This position is responsible for safe, efficient, and cost effective operation and management of the Metal Stamping Press Operation.Role and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the efficient scheduling of departmental staffing to ensure production schedule is met and On Time Delivery targets are met.
2. Ensures systems are process are in place in order to produce product that meets all quality standards. Takes immediate corrective actions when product does not meet standards. Works with support groups to improve quality.
3. Strictly enforces safety policies, environmental policies, and sustainability targets and policies. Looks for safety potential safety hazards and implements improvements with the assistance of the EHS group.
4. Ensures all employees are properly trained and tools provided in order to help employees succeed and operate an efficient department.
6. Vigorously implements systems updated and processes to decrease defect rates.
7. Works with Management and Planning to schedule equipment in an efficient manner where equipment is properly utilized, and maximum output is achieved.
8. All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years’ experience production management / manufacturing leadership required, automotive or electronics preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
• Stamping press experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience using Lean Manufacturing methods preferred
• Experience successfully managing multiple projects in parallel and resolving schedule, budget and resource conflicts is preferred.
• Above average computer skills in Microsoft Office required.
